How to reach Ujjain


Ujjain is well connected by rail and road.

Air : The Indore airport is 55 km from Ujjain, which is connected by daily flights to Delhi, Mumbai and Bhopal.

Rail : Ujjain is on the Western Railway and is connected by direct train to most major Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Kolkata, Chennai & Cochin.

Road : The road network is developed with other parts of Madhya Pradesh. Regular bus services connect Ujjain with Indore, Bhopal, Ratlam, Gwalior, Mandu, Dhar and Omkareshwar. Even Private buses ply on these roads, though it is best to take your own vehicle for short distances.

Nearest Destinations from Ujjain
Mandu is 152 km from Ujjain and even Dewas is 36 km and has a famous Devi Chamunda temple situated on a hilltop. Agar is an archeological site situated 66 km away from Ujjain that must not be missed.
At a distance of 21 km from Ujjain is Ratlam, a town famous for its cactus garden.

Climate
Due to its location, Ujjain has the climate, which is tropical in nature-the summer months (April-June) are very hot with temperatures reaching up to 45 °C. In addition, hot winds too, blow in the afternoons, worsening the heat. The winter months (Nov - Feb) are pleasant and cool with daytime temperatures typically 20°C, though it may drop to 3°C in the night. The monsoon typically arrives in late June and the months of June till September receive moderate to heavy rainfall. The month of October generally is very warm and with high humidity
