Road : The road network is developed with other parts of Madhya Pradesh. Regular bus services connect Ujjain with Indore, Bhopal, Ratlam, Gwalior, Mandu, Dhar and Omkareshwar. Even Private buses ply on these roads, though it is best to take your own vehicle for short distances.

Mandu is 152 km from Ujjain and even Dewas is 36 km and has a famous Devi Chamunda temple situated on a hilltop. Agar is an archeological site situated 66 km away from Ujjain that must not be missed.

Climate
Due to its location, Ujjain has the climate, which is tropical in nature-the summer months (April-June) are very hot with temperatures reaching up to 45 °C. In addition, hot winds too, blow in the afternoons, worsening the heat.
