Location
Bhojpur is located 28 km from Bhopal, and it is famous for the magnificent Shiva temple, which is existing since the 11th century. This place is also a notable one due to the lake constructed by the legendary Raja Bhoj, the Parmar King of Dhar (1010-1053).

The Shiva temple has earned the expression as the Somnath temple of the east and is also known as the Bhojeshwar Temple. There is also a simplistic Jain shrine near to this place, which includes a 6-meter high black statue and two smaller ones of a Tirthankara. A very colourful and big mela is organized here annually on the occasion of the festival 'MahaShivratri'.

Climate
The best seasons to visit this place would be between July to March.
