Omkareshwar
Excursion
Shri Omkar Mandhata
This temple
stands on an island, formed by the bifurcation of the Narmada, which
is about a mile long and half a mile wide. The construction is made
up from a type of a soft stone that has lent its pliable surface
to a rare degree of detailed work. Out of which the frieze figures
on the upper portion of the temple are the most stunning. Also intricately
carved is the stone roof of the temple. Encircling the shrine are
the verandahs with columns, which are carved in circles, polygons
and squares.
Siddhanath Temple
This temple is a fine example of an early medieval Brahminic architecture.
Its unique feature is a decoration of elephants carved upon a stone
slab at its outer perimeter.
24 Avatars

and a remarkable skill has been used to build it.

acres and the flattering landscape that stretches till the horizon.

barrier to invaders from the North from entering Gujarat, Deccan
and Marathwada. The fort was built by USA and AHIR and is situated
atop a hill with a palace. The 10th century Shiva Temple is also
