Champaner
Travel Guidelines
Best Time to Visit:
The summers can get rather hot so the best time-frame to travel
to Champaner is after October and before March. During these months,
the weather is not only pleasant, but October has the added advantage
of being the time for the Navratri festivities.
What
to carry:
Light cotton clothes for the summer months and a warmer sweater
or jacket for the cooler winter evenings. One should carry a first
aid kit containing essential medicines, insect and mosquito repellents,
sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat, if you plan to sightsee on a hot
summer day. Most standard brands of toiletries, cosmetics and medicines
are easily available; fancier or brands that are more exclusive
will most definitely not be available. Extra camera films, walking
shoes/sandals, cotton socks, and a spare pair of prescription glasses
should complete the list, though all of the last mentioned items
can be easily acquired in Vadodara.
Tour Operators:
For city sightseeing, try the daily coach tours organized by the
Vadodara Municipal Corporation.
