Shahpur

Shahpur is a Persian word for king's son, derived from the royal title Shah by adding the patronymic suffix -pur, a common formula for a prince of the blood, compare Rajkumar, Rajaputra, (E.) Mirzada etc.

It is also the name of several members of the Sasanian dynasty of Iran, including Shahpur Pabagan, Shahpur I, Shahpur II, and Shahpur III, as well as Shahpur Kushanshah.

Dynastic use
It was used in Iran's Pahlavi dynasty for every legitimate male descendant of the ruling Shahanshah in the male line, except the Heir Apparent (in full Vala Hazrat Vali Adh, i.e. Crown Prince, with the style of His Imperial Highness), with the full style: Vala Hazrat Shahpur (personal name) Pahlavi, i.e. Prince, with the style of His Imperial Highness.

The female counterpart is Shahdokht: 'King's daughter'

The equivalent in the previous Qajar dynasty of Persia was Shahzada, also meaning King's son.
Like many titles, it has also been used, often without royal genealogy, as part of names.
